The Law Offices of David Berg tries big cases. Over the years, our lawyers, as both plaintiff and defense counsel, have represented Westinghouse, CBS, Samsung, Robert Bass’ Acadia Partners, L.P ., Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse, and other major companies. These cases range from a dispute over nuclear steam generators to a billion-dollar patent infringement case to complex securities class actions.
We have represented whistleblowers throughout the United States in qui tam cases against large multinational companies that have defrauded federal and state governments. We have also represented victims of catastrophic personal injuries, and executives and others accused of White Collar Crime.
Our track record is a point of pride with us. We have won virtually every case we have tried or obtained a superb settlement along the way. Opposing lawyers know we do not hesitate to “tee it up” and try a case to verdict, most often with extraordinary results. That reputation adds value to the cases we accept. However, be aware that if a lawyer brags that he has never lost a case, that is because he is not trying them.
As a result, we frequently link our fees to our results in civil cases, through contingency fees or a combination of hourly fees and bonuses. We also joint venture lawsuits with other lawyers and are often called upon by clients to act as lead counsel, in association with large firms. Obviously, we cannot guarantee the result of any case, but we do guarantee our commitment to each case in our offices.
About David Berg
David Berg is a nationally recognized trial lawyer whose fearless pursuit of justice has defined his career across five decades. Whether defending the powerless or taking on some of the country’s most notorious defendants, David has earned a reputation for courage, courtroom excellence, and an unshakable moral compass.
From arguing—and winning—a landmark First Amendment case before the U.S. Supreme Court just two years into his practice, to helping shut down Ku Klux Klan paramilitary activity in Texas, David has never backed down from a fight that matters. His co-counsel in that Klan case, legendary civil rights lawyer Morris Dees, described David as “a people’s trial lawyer in the Clarence Darrow tradition,” a title earned not just through landmark victories, but through unwavering integrity in the face of danger.
But David isn’t just a high-stakes litigator—he’s a principled advocate. As a member of President Carter’s Justice Department transition team, he fought for expanded pardons and GI benefits for Vietnam War resistors, even when it meant sacrificing a potential White House counsel appointment. He’s also a devoted husband and father, and the author of The Trial Lawyer and Run Brother Run, books that reflect both his mastery of the law and his personal journey.
Named among the top ten civil trial lawyers in the U.S. by The National Law Journal and consistently recognized by Best Lawyers in America in multiple specialties, David Berg practices law the way it was meant to be: bold, compassionate, and driven by justice.
