Bankruptcy Litigation

Berg & Androphy trial lawyers have significant experience with bankruptcy litigations and matters involving insolvency and distressed investments. Our bankruptcy experience includes representation of corporate debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, trustees, bankruptcy committees and post-bankruptcy liquidation trusts. We have successfully represented clients in some of the biggest bankruptcies in recent history, including: Enron, WorldCom, Global Crossing, Lyondell, Lehman and Tribune. We also understand and have significant experience analyzing distressed investments. Significant representations include:

  • Bondholders of Lyondell for which our attorneys obtained a very favorable recovery.
  • Two financial institutions in the Enron examiner’s investigation that ultimately avoided or defeated claims in the Enron “mega case.”
  • MCI bondholders in the WorldCom bankruptcy, resulting in a greater-than-par recovery.
